As an ITSM Automation Analyst you will be responsible for analyzing IT operational processes within production control, disaster recovery, and patching to develop recommendations for automation and streamlining of processes.
As an ITSM Automation Analyst, You Will:
Conduct a current state assessment to understand process and areas for improvement
Analyze and understand business and operational processes best practices within the industry standard.
Identify and communicate the technical software requirements.
Design automated process solutions in accordance with standard design principles and conventions.
Configure new automated processes and objects using core workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable and easy to understand.
Develop recommendations that can be leveraged to streamline processes and develop multiple automation recommendations.
Work as a self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team.
To Be Successful, You Need:
A good mix of business processes and IT skills, business thinking and a client focused mindset
Good written skills with the ability to clearly document and explain business processes and automated solution designs.
Good communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience.
A working knowledge of current business processes and the ability to understand new business processes.
Experience working with tools such as BMC Remedy, Kinetic and ITSM systems such as CMDBs.
The ability to conceptualize automated solutions and understand the prescribed design architecture.
An understanding of workflow-based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram, and to illustrate a written process description as a workflow diagram.
The ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind.
An understanding of formal change control procedures and disciplines.
An aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to take a logical route to the source of an error.
University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience
Strong working knowledge of the Service Management core architecture, workflows, API, and ITSM module (Service Catalog, Change, Incident, Problem, Asset, CMDB, and Knowledge)
Bonus Points if you have:
Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience in working with data center operations specifically
Experience working within a larger financial institution
Advanced ITIL or ISO 20000 certifications
Experience developing CMDB solutions, including definition of CI’s
Experience in leading larger process improvement projects
