The Valued Added Sanitation worker will have primary responsibility for cleanliness of production floor, and will assist in cleaning warehouse areas, building exterior, dock area, waste/dump disposal area, office restrooms, break room, sales area, and the shipping office as well as general warehouse cleaning and painting as required



  • Ensure production areas are kept free of debris and excess waste
  • Ensure all boot washes are operational and kept free of excess debris
  • Maintain and empty all trashcans in & warehouse & outdoor areas, office restrooms, the break room, and the shipping office
  • Stock sanitation supplies in break area & restrooms
  • Responsible for keeping track of inventory of sanitation supplies and notifying operations manager if stock is low
  • Keep chemicals, etc. in the appropriate storage areas and according to MSDS/know where MSDS book is located
  • Understand and follow manufacturer instructions on the use of chemicals and sanitizers
  • Mop the break room, and shipping area as well as maintain cleanliness in warehouse and dock areas
  • Clean spider webs, moisture, and general warehouse cleanliness in cooler and dock areas
  • Clean floors, windows, cooler curtains and surfaces as needed throughout warehouse, office & dock areas
  • Re-work merchandise as directed by management
  • Responsible for sanitation condition of all warehouse coolers
  • Maintains all sanitation logs and maintenance work order records
  • Perform all duties to clean administrative offices to include but not limited to emptying trash, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms
  • Comply with and ensure adherence to departmental Preferred Work Methods (PWMs)
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Adherence to SQF, all Good Manufacturing Practices, Company Policies, Code of Conduct and Safety procedures
  • Employee(s) will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments


QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to perform this job successfully. 


  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)


  • Six months warehouse background preferred
  • Six months janitorial strongly preferred
  • Ability to obtain electric pallet jack and floor scrubber licenses


  • Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs of boxes of produce
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stoop and bend frequently
  • Must exhibit a required level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform requirements of the position
  • Must be able to use household paint products according to MSDS. 


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works in climate controlled areas, such as coolers, freezers, restrooms, the break room, the dock area, and the shipping & main offices.The work environment may include some congested traffic areas and slippery floors.  Walking and working is done on both tile and concrete flooring.
