Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of PR, the Director of International PR oversees all PopCap brand and game franchise communications in the UK & Ireland, Germany and France. The role also reactively manages communications in all territories outside the Americas. Working closely with PopCap's senior company executives to help shape marketing strategy worldwide as well as in Europe, the challenge is to manage the PopCap brand while identifying, executing and tracking PR and some related/synergistic marketing opportunities for game franchises such as Bejeweled, Peggle, Plants vs. Zombies and Zuma across multiple platforms such as consoles, Mac/PC, mobile, social and more. This position is a 10 month contract to cover maternity leave.

As PopCap’s European headquarters, the Dublin office houses more than 80 fulltime employees involved in all aspects of the company’s operations including game design, development, distribution and marketing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all PopCap brand and game franchise communications in all territories outside the Americas
    • Launch new games; execute ongoing consumer PR for UK & Ireland, Germany and France
  • Direct a two-person internal team - PR Manager and PR Executive - based in Dublin; provide counsel to PR Manager based in PopCap’s Shanghai office to maintain consistency with global PR activity
    • Be ultimately responsible for all team activity
    • Provide leadership and approvals on matters big and small
    • Work with team to manage internal and external creative services teams to produce required marketing assets for use in campaigns
  • Manage PR agency appointments – Germany, UK & Ireland
    • Administrate the retention of PR agencies
    • Monitor activities and ensure PR actions are carried through
    • Execute on agreed consumer campaigns; direct additional activity that may arise
  • Manage PR budgets
  • Work with NAM Marketing team
    • Report to Senior Directors of PR and Marketing on a weekly basis
    • Work with European team (General Manager, Business Development) Social and other internal teams to create maximum value for Marketing/PR campaigns
  • Liaise with media, partners, vendors as and when needs arise
  • Maintain consistency globally and protect the PopCap, and associated game, brands

 

Required Skills/Personal Requirements:

  • 9+ years experience in full-service PR
  • Experience of PR in a European role (UK & Ireland, Germany and France), with particular proficiency in UK markets; APAC preferred but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Excellent written skills
  • Media focused with a broad network of contacts
  • Demonstrate passion, motivation, talent, sheer know-how

 

Education and/or Certifications:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Marketing or PR
