Your Contribution to Our Mission:

  • The Staff ME will design, develop, and field innovative products on a multi-disciplinary team of cutting edge engineers. The team member will also be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of a product lifecycle from concept generation to final product fielding.
  • Candidate will participate in the mechanical designs of military and commercial robotic products. Projects will be on robotic systems ranging from 10 pounds to 100,000 pounds.
  • Candidate should be proficient using 3-D Solid Modeling software (PTC Creo preferable) and have an understanding of machine design and analysis, mechanism design, and electromechanical systems.
  • The candidate will perform as an individual contributor on projects and may lead junior engineers, create design packages, and assist in fielding and support of new products. Ideally the candidate shall also be “hands-on” with abilities supporting mechanical design and product issues related to various DoD pre-production and production programs.
  • Seeking someone with strong mechanical / mechanism / electromechanical design capabilities and project subsystem level leadership experience.
    • Electromechanical design, layout and modeling of electro-mechanical assemblies, machinery and mechanisms.
    • Perform basic structural, dynamic and thermal analysis.
    • Proficient application of materials, heat treatments, finishes, and coatings.
    • Perform basic tolerance analysis.
    • Creation of detail designs and drawings for fabrication.

To Land This Job, You Need:

  • Project Management – The candidate must be able to proactively manage the tasks associated with their assigned project duties.
  • Technical – Hands on experience assembling, testing and troubleshooting electromechanical systems in shop environment and field, strong CAD and detailing skills, development of design documentation packages, ability to source electromechanical and other COTS (bearings, springs, etc…) components, and ability to conduct testing.
  • Leadership – The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following skills: takes initiative, demonstrates independence, demonstrates motivation, thinks creatively, and promotes innovation. 
  • Computer Aided Design – Must have experience with relevant CAD packages. PTC Creo and Windchill desired.
  • Drafting – Must have experience with creation of detailed drawings. Experience with geometric tolerance (ASME Y14.5) desirable.
  • Communication- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, aptitude in creating and conducting presentations, and technical writing abilities.
  • Computer- Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  •  0-2 years’ experience in mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining and welding processes.
  • Hands on experience in shop environment and field support roles.
  • Mechanical Engineering BS, MS or equivalent.
