MTEQ is seeking a Sr. Program Manager with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team of well qualified, diverse individuals at our Lorton, VA Office.


The successful candidate will serve as the Sr. Program Manager for a group of rapid prototyping and production projects one of our growing programs. MTEQ supports the development of quick reaction capabilities for our US Army Force Protection, US Navy, and JSOC customers through rapid fabrication of prototype components, production of fielded systems, product kitting and sourcing of time sensitive or hard to find components.

The candidate will oversee all aspects of the assigned program and its related projects to ensure compliance with technical requirements, schedule, and budget. The candidate will lead interdisciplinary teams of engineers and other technical staff, and interface with the customer and other third parties via Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). The PM will prepare reports for upper management regarding project status and execute to plans to ensure a matrixed workforce successfully fulfills project requirements. Prepare weekly and monthly CDRLs.


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of related experience with at least 3 years of full scope program management of DoD or Federal projects/programs.

  • Experience in proposal management to include developing BOEs, cost estimates, fee, and schedules.

  • Prior responsibility for cost, schedule, performance, and profitability of hardware development or rapid prototyping and production projects/programs

  • Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client’s environment.

  • Manage the execution, completion and submission of all work products and deliverables.

  • Maintain a strong client focus, be responsive to client requests, and develop/maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Professional experience using MS Office to include Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Must be able to readily adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

  • A current secret level clearance is required to perform on this program.

  • Certification in project or program management (e.g., PMP, PgMP)


  • MBA or an MS in Engineering Management a plus

  • Prior experience in electronics manufacturing/subcontractor management is preferred. To include understanding of assembly processes and best practices for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, and cable harnesses.

  • Prior experience managing one or more DOD programs developing, prototyping, and transitioning into production new electro/mechanical product(s)

  • Prior experience working with the special operations community and its support organizations.
