TITLE: VoIP Network Solutions Engineer
DEPT: Information Technology
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Information Technology
DATE: December 2018

The VoIP Network Solutions Engineer will partner with the restaurants, Helpdesk and telephony providers to ensure both networks and VoIP solutions are installed, configured and working correctly at all times. Other responsibilities will include assisting in supporting, hardening, monitoring and configuration of our corporate network and telephony systems.
A qualified candidate will have experience in installation of telecom systems and a combination of both network related technical skills along with project management skills.

 Phone system stability
 Resolve Phone Quality Issues
 Identify and correct phone configuration issues
 Identify root cause of issues and work to resolution
 Hardware configuration and setup
 Setup and address call forwarding issues and configuration
 Maintain network monitoring applications
 Assist with switch / router configuration
 Assist with VPN setup and configuration
 Work one on one with vendors to:
 Correctly install new circuits
 Ensure configuration is correct
 Track all installation steps on team site
 Provide circuit selection for new / changing locations
 Fulfill new circuit / hardware requests
 Process support / RMA requests
 Traffic sniffing where / when required

 3 years experience in working with both networks and VoIP
 1-year minimum experience in installing network circuits at remote sites
 Highly motivated and self-starter
 Excellent customer service skills
 Ability to independently troubleshoot routine, switching or VoIP issues
 Certifications for networks (non-specific)

Network Understanding of the following network systems (Technologies and Process)
 Telco Implementation / Turn Up’s / Installations
 Installation of DMARC and extension requirements
 Fortinet (Fortigates / Fortiswitch / Fortianalyzer)
 SD-WAN (VeloCloud preferred)
 VoIP
 SolarWinds
 How Lag, Packet loss, Bandwidth, Latency, and Jitter affect VoIP
 BroadSoft
 Vonage
 SIP w/VoIP
 Physical telephone Hardware including Polycom WX 500’s
 Traffic Shaping
 Quality of service
 Layer 1 technologies
 Cable
 xDSL
 Fiber
 Frame
 Radio Frequency
 Microwave
 Satelite

 Telecom vendor “language” (i.e. MPOE, ROE, FOC, 66 Block)
 Customer Service
 Will need to work with staff in restaurants
 Ability to translate reported issue into actual issue
 Self-Starter Ability
 Needs to work independently
 Work with vendors to research / understand issues
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a corporate environment
 Work full time in office with rare travel and frequent overnight tasks
