Overview: IntelliWare is a growing business with an immediate need for a skilled and energetic Electronics Technician.
Description: The Electronics Technician will support a federal DOJ agency. The agency maintains a land mobile radio (LMR) system comprised of thousands of communications sites where fixed equipment has been installed. This equipment is linked via microwave and data circuits and is connected to a central core. The radio system consists primarily of Motorola, Inc., consoles, base stations, repeaters, wireline modems, digital interface units, mobile and portable radios.
The agency is responsible for modifying the legacy LMR to create additional capacity for other federal agencies. The modified system is called the shared land mobile radio system (SLMR) and provides for interoperability among DOJ partners and the efficient use of resources. The unit provides logistical and technical support. This position will support the Future Technologies Group -responsible for evaluating and aligning current and future technologies with the unit’s strategic objectives. These activities include: coordination and management of frequency assignments, the development and administration of data circuit connectivity requests, equipment design and installation, equipment monitoring and control, budgeting and financial management, field site support, equipment repair, communication site administration, and network operations center staffing.
