Lead, Marketing Communications Specialist
The Lead, Marketing Communications Specialist will play a key role in the FHLB Des Moines Marketing Communications Department to create, manage and execute external marketing and communications promoting the Bank and its products, services and solutions to members and other key stakeholders. The Lead, Marketing Communications Specialist will collaborate closely with other members of the Marketing Communications Department as well as business partners from Solutions and Strategies, Mortgage Product Group, Collateral and Community Investment Department to conceive, plan and produce effective and efficient print and digital campaigns for a variety of channels. The Lead, Marketing Communications Specialist will also provide strategy for and manage the FHLB Des Moines earned media efforts, including public relations, crisis communications and the Strong Communities Award. This position is also responsible for ensuring the cohesiveness of the written, visual and experiential components of the Bank’s brand.
•Collaborate with business partners from a variety of departments and Marketing Communications to develop effective member marketing and communications to drive demand for Bank products, services and solutions.
•Responsible for the timely conception, planning and production of campaigns, strategies and materials that assist with business development and drive results tied to the Bank’s Strategic Business Plan.
•Manage the FHLB Des Moines brand and corporate identity ensuring cohesiveness between written, visual and experiential components of the brand.
•Work closely with business partners to produce presentations, webinars or other materials.
•Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for business partners to provide strategies and solutions to help them meet their goals and Bank wide goals.
•Plan, develop, write and edit key messages and content.
•Manage external vendor relationships.
•Four year degree in marketing, public relations, communications or another related field.
•At least 7-10 years' of professional marketing and communications experience required, preferably with some experience in financial services.
•Experience in managing earned media efforts.
•A proficient writer with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
•Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and handle ambiguity.
•Experience using segmentation and/or personas for marketing strategies.
•Self-starter, equally willing to work independently and as a member of a team.
•Strong customer/client orientation.

•Experience with marketing automation systems preferred (i.e., SilverPop, Marketo).
