Mental Health Worker

JOB TITLE:  Mental Health Worker  

REPORTS TO (Title): Mental Health Professional/Supervisor





Mental Health Workers are the primary School Readiness Program Services (SRPS) direct

service staff, providing screenings, assessments, case management services, and brief parenting

education interventions using Infant-Parent Relationship, SEAMTM, and Positive Parenting

Program (Triple P) Tip Sheets curricula.



  1. Provide 12 or more home visits a week to families participating in the SRPS
  1. Provide assessments and interventions with the families within the scope of the program
  1. Develop Individualized Family Plans with the parent or caregiver
  1. Make appropriate referrals and linkages for the long-term care of the child
  1. Track family progress with pre and posttest assessment tools
  1. Attend outreach events as required to assist in public education and outreach activities
  1. Ensure the accurate completion of documentation and data collection
  1. Attend supervision and training sessions conducted by regional Mental Health
  1. Attend all other required meetings
  1. Other duties as assigned




Work Experience

  • At least two years of social services or parent education experience;


Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, or related field from

an accredited university;



  • Reliable vehicle for transportation;
  • Demonstrated cultural competence for the populations being served; and
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Farsi, Khmer, or Arabic.
