Brown and Caldwell, a nationwide environmental engineering and construction firm, has an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager in our Digital Services Team.  This is a technical leadership position.  The team you’ll lead is a skilled mix of architects, system engineers, network engineers, and system operators.  We are looking for an individual who thrives in a dynamic work environment, and whose enthusiasm, creativity, organization and winning attitude can contribute to the success of our high-performance team. This individual will report to and partner closely with our Digital Services Infrastructure Director.

*We have flexibility for which Brown and Caldwell office this individual will work out of and prefer our Denver, CO, Walnut Creek, CA, and Nashville, TN offices.

Job Expectations

  • Lead a diverse team of technical experts responsible for BC’s enterprise datacenters, networks, compute, storage, and applications.
  • Manage implementation of cloud technologies like Microsoft O365, Azure, and AWS.
  • Accountable for delivery, availability, and performance of virtualization technology via Citrix VDI and application delivery.  Experience with Nvidia GRID technology is a plus.
  • Lead desktop engineering team focused on automation programs to deliver operating systems and applications via SCCM, ivanti (LanDesk), or other systems.
  • Lead network engineering team working on technologies like Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Nexus, VoIP, and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Accountable for day-to-day delivery of IT operations and project execution.
  • Ensure infrastructure is aligned with current and future business requirements.
  • Develop, execute and maintain long-term capacity plans.
  • Oversee design, implementation and testing of business continuity plans (disaster recovery / high availability).
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Define processes and procedures to update and patch equipment and software.
  • Oversee design, deployment and periodic evaluation / audit of system backups, operational monitoring tools, and internal audits.
  • Run an operational organization defining service-level objectives, optimizing operational activities and driving visibility into operations through analysis, trending and measurement.
  • Recruit, train and develop a superior staff. Train staff in the use of industry best practices, established engineering methodologies and documented procedures.          

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or relevant discipline.
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant information technology experience, preferably in engineering or consulting services industry; or appropriate combination of education and experience. 
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive management and leadership experience in an enterprise information technology organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with special emphasis on leadership.
  • Strong customer service focus and experience working with end-users.
  • Excellent leadership and people management with a demonstrated ability to motivate in a team-oriented and collaborative work environment, and promote, foster and build a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Proven results delivering successful projects.
  • Ability to work in both strategic and operational environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
