Description

We are looking for a seasoned environmental services professional with experience in Northern California and strong leadership skills.  Primary responsibilities include client and project development, management and delivery; we encourage our staff to work with and communicate with our clients frequently. 

In this role, you will work closely with Market Sector Directors and senior technical staff as part of the client service team to identify, develop, manage and deliver a variety of soil/groundwater remediation, industrial water treatment, and other environmental services projects. Internally, we have an excellent group of cross trained professionals in our California offices that work in a team-oriented fashion and we expect that your excellent communication skills will help us maintain a positive, professional work environment. Externally, you will help our company further relationships with existing clients and help us build new business opportunities with new clients. 

We employ a ‘safety-first’ attitude in delivering all of our conventional and design-build projects in the remediation and process engineering sectors. We anticipate that you will work independently while exercising professional judgment to develop recommended solutions that meet expectations and goals for both internal and external clients. Our successful candidate will be highly responsive, capable of working in diverse and virtual team environments and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Further stay abreast of local and national regulations and educate senior staff and clients on new opportunities and new technologies.
  • Capable of learning and working with BC’s WorkSmart management program.
  • Support clients in negotiations with regulatory agencies, where necessary.
  • Ensure quality client services, and clarity of work products and projects while promoting and integrating companywide initiatives and values
  • Participate in improving company resources and utilize tools to improve design production and efficiency
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings
  • Direct the work of others and coordinate with other disciplines during design and delivery of projects.
  • Supervising, delegating and overseeing the work of technical staff and engineers
  • Coach and mentor less experienced technical staff
  • Periodic travel for multiple days is anticipated

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field; MS degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of civil/environmental engineering experience required
  • P.E. or equivalent licensing in California or ability to obtain licensing through reciprocity within 6 months is required
  • Experience in the consulting field; direct experience with construction and treatment system commissioning/start-up O&M preferred.
  • Experienced in material/services procurement, subcontracting, request-for-proposal response, proposal development and associated negotiations.
  • Knowledgeable with local and/or regional hydrogeology, contaminant fate and transport, environmental rules and regulations.
  • Capable of producing high quality products on schedule within budget
  • Strong project management, organizational and technical skills required
  • Strong verbal and written (technical writing) communication skills required
  • Must have a clean driving record and be willing to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
