The National Strategic Pursuits Manager position is a leadership role within Brown and Caldwell responsible for partnering with our world class engineering staff to lead the top identified and national pursuits that align with the company’s growth strategies. We have flexibility for which Brown and Caldwell office this person will work out of and prefer our Boston (Andover or Taunton, MA) New York City, NY, Philadelphia, PA or Washington D.C., VA offices.  

Job Expectations:

  • Lead  and  drive  the  capture  teams  for major national  projects.    Process  includes  managing and  assisting directly  with strategy development, writing, and editing/review to ensure persuasive messages
  • Leads  national client account analysis  efforts,  capture  planning,  and  theme/thesis  d evelopment
  • Works  with  the  National Sales  Services  Manager  and  other Strategic Pursuit Managers to develop and continually upgrade  marketing processes/standards  and  Client Service  Manager  training programs.   

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 10+  years  of  experience  as  Senior  Business  Development/Marketing  Manager
  • Experience  leading $20M+  pursuits
  • Experience  within  water environmental engineering  other highly technical consulting  field
  • Must have  the  willingness  and  ability to  travel  (50%  of  time)
  • A  successful proposal  /  interview manager    experience  overseeing,  coordinating,  as  well as  experience performing  all  aspects  of  production  including  strategy and messaging, managing resources and  processes,  graphics,  production,  and  technical teams
  • Ability to  conceptualize  and  write  narratives  as  well  as  direct graphic designers for proposals, presentations,  and marketing literature
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on superior persuasive writing/editing, presentation and interview coaching
  • A proven team leader with the ability to maximize talents of group members
  • Bachelor’s  degree  in  related  field  or  demonstrated  equivalent
  • Experienced  in  MS  Office  (Word,  PowerPoint,  Excel  and  Outlook)
  • Knowledge  o f  Adobe  InDesign  a  plus  but  not  required
