Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Are you an engineer who takes pride in delivering exceptional work and working closely with clients? We are currently seeking a senior engineer with strong project management skills who will participate on project delivery teams in executing innovative planning, evaluation, design, permit and construction support services for variety of advanced treatment plants, pumping stations, pipeline, and integrated water resources project for municipal clients in the areas of water, wastewater, reclaimed water, groundwater and stormwater. We are looking for a Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineer with a PE license that will provide project oversight and engineering mentorship in our Sarasota and Tampa offices. These offices are fast-growing and will provide for excellent career path opportunities.

Job Expectations:

We are seeking a professional engineer with experience managing and executing work involving projects for the municipal water and wastewater industry.  In this role, you will utilize your consulting expertise to manage and execute work on projects and to help ensure successful client relationships.  You will also work closely with strong technical experts and other leaders in the Florida offices and the East Region.

  • Manage and execute work and provide specialized consultation on planning/design of municipal wastewater and water utilities including infrastructure (pipelines and pumping), and treatment plants
  • Develop scope, schedule and budget for proposals
  • Help facilitate related decision making and solve complex problems
  • Lead project team in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, modeling, and engineering studies
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients for meetings/workshops
  • Successfully manage and deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Utilize internal project management tools and resources.
  • Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency
  • Direct the work of CADD, designers, engineers, and coordinate with other disciplines
  • Supervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers.
  • Participate in BC’s QA/QC process.
  • Participate in BC’s Project Management Office (PMO) training and meetings
  • Assist with business development pursuits
  • Assist the local leader with growth related strategies and planning

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.)
  • M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on water, wastewater, and reclaimed water preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater engineering and consulting preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Florida
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Travel between the Sarasota and Tampa offices on a frequent basis is required
