Our Design Services Group has an opportunity for a Design Manager with experience in infrastructure, water, or wastewater projects. This position will support our Design operations and in this key role you will help to grow Client Service Teams and will work on a key projects for BC and the local area.

The Design Manager will be ultimately responsible for leading/facilitating multidisciplinary design projects and coordinating the design projects in the area. This coordination will encompass the following:

  • Work with the design teams, including project managers/project engineers to build quality into design documents
  • Work with the area leaders, project managers, local staff and client service teams to identify and mitigate project and business risk
  • Work with local Client Service Teams and Project Managers in scoping and pricing large projects
  • Work on Regional/Enterprise Pursuits, as needed
  • Identify projects requiring additional attention and resources and work with the BC enterprise to fill the needs
  • Participate in Area/business unit Leadership Teams as appropriate

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Project Management experience on multidisciplinary design projects
  • Hands-on understanding of multidisciplinary design
  • Decisiveness (the ability to take input and make a decision in a timely manner)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills (comfort dealing directly with clients)
  • Experience working on advanced treatment and infrastructure design projects is a plus (but not required)
  • 10+ years of experience
  • BS degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or comparable experience

Experience with local clients a plus but not required
