The Industrial Water (IW) Market Sector Leader (MSL) and Geographic Leader is a senior-level engineering services and business manager charged with leading the growth of the IW business in a specific market sector and geography in the company’s Private Sector Enterprise (PSE).  MSLs achieve the firm’s prominence through application of strategic vision, persuasive leadership, coordination with local office staff, and application of necessary directive efforts.  MSLs are action-oriented positions; needed actions are based upon solid market information, instinct, and coordination with the firm’s local and business group staff.  MSLs develop and implement market segment strategies for the IW service line in collaboration with the PSE Market Sector Directors (MSDs) and account managers.

Because this position is in Houston, TX, likely the strongest market for IW service in the US, the IW MSL for OGPP will also be the IW Gulf Coast Initiative Leader, responsible for helping to sell and deliver IW projects in all targeted sectors in the Gulf Coast. The IW Gulf Coast Leader will also be responsible for helping identify, recruit and on-board, and manage IW staff for Houston and the Gulf Coast, as required.  

Overall, through these combined roles, you will be responsible for the development and profitable execution of PSE IW projects through market and client strategy development; skillful financial and operational management; and helping others develop and supervise a talented team in Houston.

  • Active business and risk manager capable of successfully planning and executing projects in the sector. You will ensure successful and profitable delivery of projects partnering with internal project, design, and risk management teams, along with other enterprise groups.

  • You will be an energetic, compelling communicator with exceptional diplomatic and persuasive skills, capable of listening and interacting effectively with staff and clients at all organizational levels.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum BS in science or engineering
  • Preferred MS in engineering and/or MBA
  • Experience in engineering and technical sales
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
