Senior Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

Work Location LA or Irvine


Currently our LA or Irvine office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Engineer to join our growing southern California business.  We are seeking a motivated person who enjoys the variety of opportunities available in engineering consulting and is ready to take on more responsibility.  This position provides a broad exposure to wastewater, water, infrastructure, and l planning and construction related projects. Current projects include a greenfield advance water treatment plant, greenfield wastewater solid facility, pump stations, pipelines, planning studies, etc.

Candidate will utilize consulting expertise to manage and execute work on projects and to help ensure successful client relationships.  In addition, the candidate may also participate in pursuit of business development opportunities.  The candidate will also work closely with strong technical experts and other leaders in the LA and Irvine Offices.

Job Expectations:

•Design wastewater and water facilities including treatment plant, pumping station, and facility planning and design, coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies

•A portion of current work involves engineering during construction services and will require this person to work at active construction sites.

•Effectively lead project tasks working closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and sub-consultants, including coordinating project team members in remote offices on one or possibly more concurrent projects

•Serve as project manager, and/or design engineer

•Perform technical research, and be able to communicate and apply this knowledge

•Make decisions, solve problems and communicate effectively and professionally

•Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings

•Direct the work of local drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines

•May include supervising, delegating and overseeing the work of technical staff and engineers

•Assist with business development pursuits

•Coach and mentor junior engineers and designers

Desired Skills and Experience:

•B.S. degree in Civil/Sanitary, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; M.S. preferred

•Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal engineering and consulting required, 7-10 years preferred

•Experience with the study, design, and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater facilities required

•Professional Engineer (PE) License required

•Strong project management skills desired

•Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plus

•Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents
