Our growing Tampa office is currently seeking a mid-level Professional Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our team.  The engineer will participate on project delivery teams in executing planning, evaluation, design, permit, and construction support services for advanced treatment plants, pumping stations, and pipeline projects for municipal clients in the areas of water, wastewater, reclaimed water, groundwater, and stormwater. This is a unique opportunity to work on project teams for developing innovative and cutting edge solutions on “One Water” projects.  The selected candidate will work closely with strong technical experts and senior project managers to deliver projects while helping to mentor junior level staff.

Job Expectations:

  • Serve as lead project engineer on medium to large scale engineering projects.
  • Serve as project manager and Engineer of Record (PE) on smaller scale projects under the mentorship of BC’s senior experts and managers. 
  • Develop and prepare design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, permit applications, models and other technical deliverables
  • Provide consultation in water/wastewater process, master planning, modeling and design
  • Pilot project execution and assessment
  • Field investigations and engineering services during construction
  • Read and summarize as well as create technical reports/plans
  • Assist in preparing and making presentations to clients, colleagues, and the public
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, scientists, and construction inspectors
  • Delegate and oversee the work of subordinate technical staff and engineers
  • Assist with the development of scope of services and fee budgets
  • The ability to occasionally travel to project sites and other BC Florida offices

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil or Environmental) required
  • M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on water, wastewater, and reclaimed water engineering, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively increasing responsibility required
  • Florida State PE required
  • Strong project engineer skills required; some project management experience preferred
  • GIS and/or CAD experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation required
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and the ability to multi-task
