We're looking for a Project Manager to help manage and execute wastewater projects.  This position can be located in our Seattle, Tacoma or Olympia, Washington offices.  When you join Brown and Caldwell, you will enjoy a unique and welcoming culture. Job Expectations:

Responsibilities include civil/mechanical engineering and project management for a variety of projects to provide planning, evaluation, design and construction related activities for wastewater/water and related facilities. In this role, you will supervise the work of others and provide technical support in specialized areas. Our ideal candidate will be a technical leader and project manager, will manage client relationships and participate in business development activities. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Develop scope, schedule and budget for design work orders
  • Develop proposals and presentations including project understanding and approaches, and level of effort estimates
  • Lead teams to develop and prepare specifications, detailed design drawings, reports, planning, and engineering services during construction
  • Technical and quality control review of study, planning and design documents
  • Prepare calculations, models and other technical deliverables for civil/utility related projects
  • Utilize internal project management tools and resources to provide successful management of large projects that meet or exceed the project success metrics
  • Coordinate with project managers, client service managers, and other project personnel from other disciplines.
  • Direct the work of, communicate effectively and coordinate with, project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers and other engineers)
  • Execute activities on projects for master planning and modeling of water/wastewater/conveyance systems
  • Oversee and direct the work of drafters, designers, and junior level engineers assigned to projects.
  • Conduct field investigations, perform condition assessment evaluations, assist with asset management and provide business consulting guidance to municipal clients
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and for professional meetings.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree required, in related engineering field (Civil, Mechanical)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in related experience
  • Professional registered engineer with the ability to obtain professional engineer registration in Washington within 6 months
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills
  • Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
