Description

Currently our Vancouver, B.C. office has an opening for a Staff Engineer to join us immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting office and out at a premier project construction site.  Candidate will work with and be mentored by strong, nationally recognized, senior technical staff on various municipal water and wastewater treatment projects.

Job Expectations:

  • Provide construction management and construction engineering support on a long-term wastewater treatment project
  • During the construction phase, candidate will be expected to work out at the project site, averaging 5 days a week
  • Provide document control, attend meetings and prepare minutes, perform submittal review and coordination during construction activities
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing
  • Assist with environmental studies, permitting and alternative analyses
  • Work on engineering designs, prepare reports, construct plans, make specifications and assist various projects
  • Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Candidate should hold a BS degree in engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical etc.) or related field required; MS degree preferred
  • Previous internship or experience in the construction management and/or engineering consulting field is a plus
  • Experience and/or coursework in wastewater treatment preferred
  • Candidate will have strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well in team environments
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually essential
  • Candidate will have strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently and in team environments
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite a plus (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
  • Candidate should be authorized to work in Canada
