Our Denver office has a new opportunity for a Payroll Specialist with basic payroll experience to join our growth-oriented professional engineering and environmental consulting office.  In this role, you will report to the Payroll Manager and will work closely alongside another Payroll Specialist.  This is an entry level position.

Job Expectations:

  • Build strong knowledge of the internal BST accounting system and timesheet functions
  • Review and process time sheet adjustments and labor transfers
  • Assist and cross train on weekly eTime close
  • Assist and cross train on bi-weekly payroll processing in Ultipro 
  • Data entry of payroll adjustments to include deduction adjustments
  • Enter employee W4 and direct deposit information
  • Process manual checks as requested
  • Support and backup for other payroll team members
  • Report various monthly/quarterly data such as Labor Statistics, Multiple Worksite, OHSA and Mine Site reports
  • General filing
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Some college education in Business or related field preferred
  • 0 to 3 years payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of payroll systems a plus
  • Understanding of general payroll policies and procedures
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with people, while maintaining confidentiality
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, professional and able to meet deadlines
