Our Portland office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Marketing/Proposal Coordinator in our growth-oriented engineering and environmental consulting firm. Primary job responsibilities include providing marketing support for strategic efforts as well as regular proposal/presentation preparation and coordination. The position is ideal for candidates who have a passion for persuasive writing and creative thinking; are self-driven and efficient with deadlines; and work effectively with diverse teams of engineers, marketers, and design staff to produce winning results.

The successful candidate will partner and work closely with senior marketing and sales leaders on positioning for opportunities; creating persuasive proposals, presentations, and marketing materials; and maintaining systems and tools to promote overall efficiency and effectiveness. The position provides a variety of sales and marketing support functions as outlined below.

Job Expectations:

  • Leads multiple concurrent pursuits to develop high-quality and persuasive proposals and presentations, including facilitating capture planning for competitive pursuits, managing complex schedules to ensure timely completion of assignments, proofreading and editing content to improve messaging and ensure compliance, coordinating development of graphics, and production.
  • Supports Client Service Managers to understand and build strategies to respond to client needs, including planning actions and tracking milestones, conducting research, organizing client workshops and special events, and maintaining information systems that supports business development efforts.
  • Manages process to create and maintain well-organized, up-to-date qualification statements, project descriptions, and resumes that reflect firm strengths and client benefits.
  • Supports timely entry of accurate and complete opportunity information in company tracking system.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field), and 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in a related role. Experience in the engineering, environmental, architecture, and/or construction industries is a strong plus.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Selected candidates must complete an editing and writing assessment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments to meet tight, often overlapping deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with emphasis on persuasive writing for proposals and presentations.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign; and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
