Description

Currently Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Senior-Level Structural Designer to join our Structural Design Group.  The successful candidate will work on various projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients.  The candidate will work with structural, mechanical, process and electrical engineers, architects and designers on designs for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries.  Project work includes: leading the structural Revit/CAD model creation and drawing production efforts on projects; directing structural designers in the preparation of construction drawings; and coordination with other engineering disciplines.  The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost effective designs for new facilities, expansions, upgrades and retrofits.

Job Expectations:

  • Expert level knowledge of BIM process and technologies, specifically Revit.
  • Initiate Structural Model for projects and prepare for production team.
  • Work as part of a BIM/CAD team to achieve consistent results.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute Navisworks model walkthroughs
  • Daily model management administration and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain architectural and structural content and standard details
  • Integration of REVIT products with other applications (Autodesk, construction phasing, cost estimation).
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NBIMS, NCS, AEC, a plus.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Engineering Degree, 4+ years of experience in professional environment.
  • 4 years’ experience will be substituted for a degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional Autodesk products use and support.
  • Eager to support staff with positive attitude, passion, and patience.
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD Architecture, Navisworks Manage
  • Familiarity with CRSI standards for reinforced concrete detailing and AISC structural steel detailing
  • Experience with architectural modeling, detailing and drawing production.
  • Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle, and priorities.
