Description

 

This is an entry- to mid-level software development role to primarily support automation of engineering drawing production and data management. The ideal candidate will have solid foundations in C#, SQL and agile development using Git and Visual Studio.

The individual will work with project teams to better understand roadblocks and bottlenecks in design data workflows from processes and procedures to CADD authoring technologies and connected data architecture.

 

Duties:

  • Develop Revit and AutoCAD Add-ins to streamline design delivery
  • Manage MS SQL Server databases for projects
  • Provide support to project teams using design automation tools
  • Work with Design Services leadership to update design execution standards (workflows, processes, tools, etc.) based on project execution
  • Works to meet BC coding standards

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in an agile project delivery environment
  • Leverages the strength of teamwork
  • Takes initiative, is accountable, and makes things better

Preferred Skillsets:

  • Ability to distil complex thoughts and strategies into simple, memorable terms that colleagues and clients without IT and/or IS backgrounds can grasp and act upon
  • Understanding of the design production environment, particularly in the field of water and wastewater engineering
  • Proven interdisciplinary skillset and passion for creativity and workflow process improvements

Software and Technical Proficiencies:

  • C# and familiarity with SQL libraries (knowledge of Autodesk/Revit APIs a plus)
  • MS SQL Server management basics
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Pivot tables, external data sources, lookup functions, etc.
  • Basic software proficiency with either SharePoint or Access
