For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity for significant professional growth and the potential to collaborate with local and national teams to grow our Electrical and Process Automation Services group. In this role, your responsibilities will include implementing I&C design and construction projects, services during construction support, managing I&C design teams, and collaborating with client development teams with the goal of supporting proposal and scope/fee development. We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of selling, managing, and executing industrial and municipal electrical, I&C, and other water/wastewater work. The role requires the ability to integrate and apply Brown and Caldwell’s service offerings and talent to help our clients solve their most challenging issues. Primary responsibilities include:


  • Serve as Project Manager for electrical and I&C projects, Task Manager, or perform as lead discipline (I&C) person to lead teams on projects as appropriate
  • Scope and budget projects, identify method of project execution and coordinate staff assignments
  • Successfully manage projects and I&C or electrical designs to be on time and on budget using company systems and tools
  • Cyber security design and implementation for industrial control systems
  • Providing leadership and mentorship for other entry level I&C engineers, designer, and industrial control system programmers
  • Support client development teams by connecting key technical experts within the company in support of developing new business opportunities and responding to proposal requests
  • Collaborate with a national team of technical experts, technical sellers, and the national discipline lead for the Electrical and I&C group
  • Build and maintain client relationships while promoting and integrating company-wide initiatives and values
  • Be self-motivated with an outgoing personality and excellent planning and communication skills
  • Successfully execute assigned tasks on time and on budget
  • Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums
  • Travel to client and other BC office locations as needed


Position Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering)
  • Professional registration with the ability to obtain registration within 6 months in Washington, Utah, and Colorado
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as an I&C Engineer with 5 years working on government, municipal and/or industrial water/wastewater projects
  • Team leadership and staff supervision
  • Experience as a project manager desired
  • Experience in developing secure network designs is a plus
  • Proven record of working and maintaining relationships with existing clients and projects with the ability to deliver those projects successfully, profitably, and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Knowledge and experience with business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
