Description

SUMMARY

The Sales Coach is primarily responsible for in-field sales coaching and development of the agronomy sales team and the grain marketing service representative team with the objective of aggressively growing marketshare and overall profitability.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Sales Team Development (60% of time)

  1. Provide coaching and development to the sales team, to include measurement, forecasting, and goal-setting processes. Ensure team achieves goals.
  2. Provides leadership to the sales team by performing the following\
  3. In-Field Ride Along
  4. Pre-Call Planning
  5. Post Call Debriefs
  6. Grower Marketshare Improvement 

2. Business Planning & Execution (30% of time)

  1. Develop individual business plans for each sales agronomist.
  2. Monitor execution of business plan and provide quarterly updates/forecast.
  3. Key grower follow-up on SA call activity.

3.  Sales Team Enhancement (5% of time)

  1. Continually recruit new talent by attending industry events
  2. Coordinate continuing education
  3. Coordinate career development with SA, MSR’s, and GSR’s

4.  General Management (5% of time)

  1. Promote Product Management Interaction & collaborate on strategy.
  2. Promote Key Supplier Interaction

5. Consistently use the Ag Partners Proven Sales Process to include:

  • Minimum 3+ days per week making farm sales calls with team members.

  • Planning and succesful execution of business and action plans.

  • Manage relationships with 20 key customers.

  • Develop relationships with key influencers in market area, i.e. farm managers, etc.

  • Bring forth new product ideas for consideration by Product Management.

  • Capitalize on unique market opportunties that differentiate Ag Partners.

  • Maintain a balanced quality of life for all employee’s on team.

7. Consistently use all other relevant policies, procedures and systems that include:

  • Contact management.

  • Manage travel and entertainment budget and comply with policy.

  • Ag Partners established policies on margins.

  • Work in a safe and efficent manner according to Ag Partners’ safety policy and guidelines.

  • Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept within the organization.

  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership team and other area leader’s to increase market penetration and marketshare.

     

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 7+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • This position will require 85% travel.
