Sr. Software Engineer – (Horsham, PA)
The Sr. Software Engineer works as an individual contributor in an agile team to assess, enhance, maintain, support and develop new software solutions for the NextGen Ambulatory EHR product line. The Sr. Software Engineer analyzes user specifications and requirements, provides task breakdown and estimations, designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents large-scale, complex software applications. The Sr. Software Engineer works in a self-directed manner as well as being a strong team player, demonstrates excellent self-learning capability and is flexible and adaptive to changing technologies and processes.
Research, design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems for our NextGen Ambulatory product line, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Consult with IS, dev ops and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
Formulate and design software system using technical analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Work with network administrators, systems analysts and other software engineers to resolve any defects in products or company systems.
Consult with customers concerning maintenance of software system.
May coordinate installation of software system.
Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of isolating and correcting performance bottlenecks and debugging.
Administer diagnostic analysis of test results and deliver solutions to critical areas.
Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development best practices.
Write and maintain technical documentation, manuals and guidelines.
5+ years of experience as a software engineer or developer.
Enthusiastic self-starter with a strong passion for coding, learning, and problem-solving.
Full development life-cycle experience on commercial products using object oriented design principles in an object oriented language (ex. C#, C++ or Java).
Extensive experience developing, maintaining and debugging SQL and stored procedures.
Expertise in relational DB design principles.
Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience building interfaced solutions that span multiple environments.
Master's degree in Computer Science or other Software related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrates excellent understanding of quality processes and the ability to produce high quality solutions.
Excellent customer service skills in working with users of all technical abilities.
Expertise with any of the following: C#, C++, MFC, WCF, WPF, ASP.NET Web API, IIS configuration, experience developing unit testable code and meaningful unit tests, Visual Studio, PKI and TLS.
