Regional Sales Representative – (San Diego, CA)
Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services. Personally contacts and secures new business accounts/customers.
Entry level sales professional delivering on operational targets within a discipline.
Works to achieve smaller sales targets or within smaller territory, which have limited impact on overall achievement of team results.
May be responsible for narrow range of clients; contributes to the completion of team objectives.
Errors or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedule.
Works with smaller clients on issues that are standard and repeated.
Generally follows standard practices and procedures.
Client-related issues faced are general, and may require understanding of broader set of issues; receives little instruction.
Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices.
Works with other team members to determine sales methods and procedures with close supervision.
Communicates with external customers and/or vendors involving basic negotiation and/or presentations in order to close sales.
May work to influence parties within department at an operation level regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
Contact regular and prospective customers to explain product features and solicit orders.
Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences. Recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests.
Answer’s customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
Maintain customer/prospect relationships before/after sale and maintain positive reference sites, calling customers to establish and prepare relationships.
Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
1 plus years of experience in sales or sales support
Developing sales expertise and skills.
Requires practical knowledge of technical discipline typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Resolves several routine issues by applying standard company policies and procedures.
Demonstration skills, script writing, and development of follow-up tools.
Healthcare/technology knowledge preferred.
Familiar with Strategic selling initiatives.
