OUTAGE & STATION SCHEDULER
Location:  Merom Generating Station near Sullivan, IN

Pay Grade:  M-7, M-8

POSITION SUMMARY


Assists in the coordination of all facets of planned and forced outage work with stakeholders.  Supports the development, organization, planning, scheduling, execution and closing phases of said outage work within Hoosier Energy company policies. Accountable for the creation and generation of station work schedules.  The schedules will include work for Vendors, Contractors & Hoosier Energy Maintenance/Operations groups.  Integration of PM and selected corrective work will comprise each week’s schedules. Serves as an additional resource to all site Core Teams.  Focuses and ensures schedule compliance is achieved. Maintains and develops the station’s Maximo CMMS system.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops all weekly schedules for the station work activities while following the weekly scheduling process. Develops resource loaded schedules for all station work groups, shifts and contractors to ensure that man-hour resources are effectively utilized. Ensures all work on the schedule is adequately planned. Records & maintains resource hours to guarantee planned vs available hours for scheduling. 
  • Assembles work packages to distribute them to the Supervisors each week along with extended schedules & resource forecasts.
  • Assists Core Teams with PM/JP creation and revisions.
  • Develops and manages all Maintenance department metrics to monitor the work management process. Communicates these metrics periodically with the station employees, monitors Maximo statuses and reviews backlogs with Equipment Owners during daily scheduling meetings to ensure jobs continue to be executed in a timely manner.
  • Leads daily and weekly scheduling efforts to ensure schedules and changes are communicated to plant staff so conflicts can be avoided and support can be arranged. Review daily completion in the meetings, discuss next day’s planned work and request weekly carry-over jobs and man-hours for the integration into the next week’s schedule. 
  • Serves as the stations Maximo expert/custodian for maintaining the tool and providing necessary updates. Responsible for updating equipment information and placing information in the proper format within Maximo. 
  • Fills in with supervisory responsibilities on occasion. Technical expertise in some areas of the station and equipment ownership responsibilities. Assumes some Tech Lead responsibilities during outage events as assigned. Participates in station management on-call rotation.
  • Attends bargaining unit safety meetings and events to stay plugged into the safety culture. Maintains station safety work order list and follows-up to ensure planning is complete and items are placed on the weekly schedules in a timely manner. Considers all Hoosier safety and OSHA requirements when scheduling jobs.
  • Facilitates execution of field work through representatives of contracting firms, contracted services and Hoosier Energy supervisory and management personnel. Directs and coordinates outage activities with plant Operations and Maintenance Departments, Asset Management, Purchasing, Safety and other personnel. 
  • Acquires service related outage resources at the request of Core Teams.  Provides general services to facilitate planned outages. 
  • Assists in selecting, leading and supervising temporary personnel relating to outage activities.  Promotes continuous improvement of department processes. Builds, maintains and fosters good business relationships with other Hoosier Energy employees, stakeholders, contracting firms and other service providers. Serves as an ambassador of Hoosier Energy with outside vendors and contractors.  

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience and knowledge required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred. 

Experience:

  • 5 years of technical and/or project experience.

Skills and Abilities:
