Location:  Headquarters - Bloomington, IN

Pay Grade:  M-8


Accountable for implementation and assistance in developing programs focused on supporting member systems with large commercial and industrial (C&I) customer service, improving large C&I customer loyalty/satisfaction, facilitating as well as promoting member system activities consistent with and achieving the goals of the Hoosier Energy Power Network and developing markets, products and services for the power network.


  • Develop and maintain relationships with member systems and C&I customers to identify and solve problems, introduce energy efficiency concepts and technologies and promote Demand Side Management (DSM) initiatives that add value to the customer-supplier relationship.
  • Utilize tariffs to provide lowest cost option for C&I customer while supporting member system margins.
  • Assist member systems in developing C&I accounts.
  • Assess C&I needs, develop and implement programs and projects to the market segments.
  • Monitor commercial and industrial activities including prospects for economic development projects, develop customer databases and conduct other marketing research to identify, analyze and act upon market opportunities consistent with Hoosier Energy’s goals and objectives.




  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) recognized by the State of Indiana desired.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certificate with additional training in utility operations, energy efficiency, and energy auditing and computer applications desired.



  • Minimum six years’ experience as associate engineer, senior engineer and/or project engineer, or key accounts manager for an electric power utility, consulting firm or similar experience with power engineering services.

  • Broad knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and work as part of a team.
  • Experience with negotiation in terms, agreements and understandings with others.  
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated level of professionalism, positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills to identify, anticipate and resolve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
