Job Summary

  • Oversee parts product planning and fill voids in product range to grow sales
  • Lead the development of product kits and expansion of Blue Bird branded products
  • Provide pricing recommendations based on collecting competitive market pricing
  • Develop sales promotions and supporting material in conjunction with suppliers
  • Assist with content and design of dealer Parts Promotion Flyer Program
  • Work with Marketing team on advertising plans and development of marketing collateral
  • Lead parts trade show activity in conjunction with corporate marketing department
  • Oversee parts market research activities
  • Determine at what level the parts group will service new products working through the Blue Bird Product Development System (PDS)
  • Lead the set-up of new part numbers
  • Assist in development and implementation of dealer suggested stocking lists
  • Produce a Dealer Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Develop overall plans for Regional Parts Training, Parts Sales Fairs and Dealer Meetings and solicit supplier support and sponsorship for these events

Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities

  • Practical knowledge of and a mechanical aptitude for bus, truck or automotive operations
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving results through an independent dealer network
  • Direct experience in vehicle parts operations at corporate or dealership level
  • Proficiency in product portfolio planning and pricing
  • Experience creating marketing collateral material and sales promotions that drive results
  • Ability to work with others including outside vendors to accomplish a common goal

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Direct experience calling on dealers as a field rep or working for a vehicle dealer is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) essential
  • Ability to influence through indirect authority and a solid team player
  • Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word and Power Point)
  • Position requires travel (estimated ~30%)
