Summary:

The primary function of this position is to coordinate approved R&D project documentation and samples between Benefit, LVMH and Manufacturer personnel.

The Assistant Manager, Validation & Regulatory will support:

  • Research and Development in managing product samples for testing and forecast
  • The Product Validation Specialist in the product validation process and documentation
  • Regulatory in responding to customer inquiries, ensuring cosmetovigilance processes are followed and updating corporate affair statements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Validation Specialist to coordinate samples for required testing: HRIPT, Micro, SPF testing etc.
  • Oversee all validation activities for approved formulas with the Validation Specialist
  • Responsible for monitoring key dates in the web based project management planning system for Validation team
  • Work with Validation Specialist as a back-up for all necessary functions including interaction with LVMH Regulatory, validation of all formulas and budget
  • Updates status for projects into various spreadsheets
  • Assists with the upkeep of the Validation documents for R&D project folders
  • Liaise with LVMH Regulatory with respect to validation of all formulas
  • Support Regulatory Department with information pertaining to product development, product validation and registration
  • Oversee communication with all outside suppliers to gather raw material data needed for formula validation, escalating requests as necessary to ensure urgency is communicated
  • Attend Integrated Timeline and Handoff Meetings to ensure all validation and regulatory requirements are noted by the PM
  • Support Associate Director in answering and tracking customer inquiries escalated to Regulatory for a response, ensuring cosmetovigilance processes are followed and updating corporate affair statements
  • Maintain quarterly KPI reports and distribute to Associate Director and VP of R&D
  • Create/maintain formula development measurements as requested by department head
  • Travel (With VP of R&D and/or Associate Director) to outside labs for Validation and Regulatory as required
  • Help develop and maintain department SOPs as needed or requested by department head
  • Responsible for preparing excel reports, Visio or PowerPoint items for the Efficacy and Validation team
  • Streamline processes where possible
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry/related field or Associates degree with minimum 2+ years of experience in cosmetics industry
  • Knowledge of cosmetics formulation/raw materials required
  • Previous regulatory affairs experience highly desired
  • Must be easily adapt to priority changes and able to work on numerous simultaneous projects to meet established timelines
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to remain calm while working against a deadline
  • Proven ability to work in an efficient and timely manner
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Projects)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
