Process Engineer with cosmetics and/or contract manufacturing background possessing a broad knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes as they relate to product scale-up and industrialization, batch manufacturing and filling line validation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee pilot activities at subcontractors
  • Author pilot reports summarizing outcomes and potential risks
  • Develop and implement process improvement efforts and otherwise troubleshoot existing processes at identified suppliers
  • Communicate pilot timing and transfer submissions for batch approval to marketing department
  • Review pilot defects with Quality Assurance to establish range boards for production
  • Conduct fill weight testing to set product claim weights and filling targets
  • Review and validate Manufacturing Procedures for all new products
  • Manage technical documents required for EU Regulatory Dossier
  • Create and fill prototype / stability samples in a laboratory setting
  • Review planning timelines for new projects as it relates to all Process Engineering services within the operational departments
  • Review and qualify all first production finished goods from product manufacturers
  • Manage risk analysis and tracking for big bet projects
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of analytical testing requirements as they relate to the cosmetic industry (IR, viscometer, pH, melt point, % solids, specific gravity)

Education, Experience, and Special Requirements:

  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university, preferably in a scientific discipline (biology, chemistry, engineering, etc.) and/or experience equal to 5 years of full-time work in related fields
  • Candidate must have at least two years’ experience in cosmetics or related field (e.g. skincare, haircare)
  • Knowledge of GLP and GMP
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing and design of experiments
  • Process Engineering and Contract Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Must be willing to travel as needed
