Alumni Services Coordinator
The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is dedicated to furthering the ideals and promoting the welfare of the United States Military Academy (USMA), and to supporting and serving its graduates. USMA is renowned as the preeminent leader development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400 and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
The WPAOG is seeking an Alumni Services Coordinator for the Alumni Support Department. As part of the Alumni Services Team, this individual will provide assistance to the Society Support, Brick and Paver, Great Hall, Gripping Hands, Volunteer, Shared Interest Group Support, and Travel Programs with a special focus on our computer systems. This position will require duties such as greeting and assisting visitors, making phone calls, special projects, and computer work. This position reports to the Director of Alumni Services.
The Coordinator is expected to be knowledgeable of all USMA and WPAOG activities and programs; meet deadlines as required; have experience setting priorities and successfully managing multiple projects of varying complexity and urgency simultaneously; have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The Coordinator will perform various administrative and technical tasks as needed to include: maintaining and updating electronic records; maintaining e-mail listservs; creating and assisting in the maintenance of group webpages; taking orders and recording them; monitoring and maintaining department files; updating and maintaining WPAOG calendar with events; creating, monitoring, and compiling surveys; updating and ordering print materials; mailing documents as needed; coordinating webinars, conference calls, and meetings; ensuring the program information on westpointaog.org and wpaogsallyport.org is regularly updated; promoting programs; performing administrative duties related to alumni events at football tailgates, Founders Day, Graduation, and the annual WPAOG Leaders Conference.
A high school diploma is required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. At least two years of demonstrated professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer service, marketing, or sales experience preferred. Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to multitask, and attention to detail are required. Familiarity with military culture is preferred. Must be a team player who enjoys engaging with and assisting others. Salary commensurate with skills and experience. Some nights and weekends required.
