Advertising and Sponsorship Sales Representative

The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is dedicated to furthering the ideals and promoting the welfare of the United States Military Academy (USMA), and to supporting and serving its graduates. USMA is renowned as one of the world's preeminent leadership development institutions. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400 and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.

West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking an Advertising and Sponsorship Sales Representative. The Sales Representative will identify prospective advertisers and sponsors and be persistent in reaching out to them to capture and maintain advertising and sponsorship contracts. The individual will also be responsible for all administrative tasks associated with the job, and work with WPAOG’s graphic designer and webmaster for placements. He/she will be required to learn and use WPAOG’s database and web-based services to research and identify prospects, and to document transactions. He/she will also be responsible for managing subscription sales and renewals for WPAOG publications, and associated tracking and invoicing.

The position requires superb customer service, consultative relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills and excellent oral and written communications are required.  The incumbent must have an outgoing personality with willingness to reach out to prospects and verbalize the selling points of promoting a product or service via WPAOG communication vehicles. Also, they should have the knowledge of or willingness to learn the print production process and related file formats. The Advertising and Sponsorship Sales Representative must be able to work independently to obtain information, research database information, and use other means to identify prospective advertisers. In addition, experience in MS Office and Blackbaud CRM or a similar database system is a must. Effective interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with others in various roles, at various levels within the organization is required. Sales experience is valued and two years of college is required.
