Prospect Analyst

The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is dedicated to furthering the ideals and promoting the welfare of the United States Military Academy, and to supporting and serving its graduates.  USMA is renowned as one of the world's preeminent leader development institutions.  The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400 and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.

 

West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Prospect Analyst to be an integral participant in fundraising efforts for the United States Military Academy (USMA). This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Donor Strategy and Analytics.

 

As part of the Donor Strategy and Analytics team, this individual will work closely with the one other Prospect Analyst and the Senior Director and Assistant Director, as well as frontline fundraisers. Duties will include conducting proactive prospect research to build a continuous discovery pipeline, tracking current prospects to assist in identifying key engagement opportunities, developing and running reports to monitor the progress of the cultivation cycle, and other moves management tasks. This position will also be responsible for updating information in Blackbaud CRM and validating capacity ratings. The Prospect Analyst will also have shared responsibility for preparing bios for several events throughout the year while also preparing research profiles, responding to questions and requests for brief research, and taking care of other research and database maintenance needs. This position will also be involved in some of the new data analytics helping to drive fundraising strategies.

 

Applicant must have at least three years experience in prospect research (or similar field), solid knowledge of constituent databases (Blackbaud CRM preferred), strong analytical skills, experience setting priorities and successfully managing multiple projects of varying complexity and urgency simultaneously, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strict attention to detail.

 

A Bachelors Degree as well as 3-5 years experience in prospect research or related work in Development is required.
