Transparent Language is currently seeking a  Senior Curriculum Development Manager (SCDM) to join the Curriculum Development Team. The SCDM defines, manages and produces high quality language textbook content based on well-defined specifications

Languages of interest: French, Indonesian, Tagalog, Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian, Thai

Synopsis

Define, manage, and produce high-quality, foreign language-learning curricula/textbooks of moderate-to-high complexity, with a low-to-moderate degree of supervision, assistance, and mentoring, as part of a team collaborating on Transparent Language products. Content typically takes several forms to include text, graphics, audio, and video.

Work with Curriculum Development, Content Development, Product Management, User Experience, and Advanced Concepts to help define the nature and types of learning content required to meet the needs of customers. The SCDM will work independently or with the Director of the Curriculum Development Department to organize and manage the creation and development of the foreign language learning curriculum, utilizing internal and external linguistic and multimedia development resources.

Required Experience

  • Experience or familiarity with developing curriculum that supports a Task-Based Language Teaching model
  • Experience aligning the scope & sequence of a curriculum framework to external educational standards.
  • Fluency in English and at least one other language
  • Two-to-six years of project management experience, in curriculum development for foreign language education with proficiency and performance goals.

  • Experience receiving edits and revising content
  • Ability to proofread content and detect errors
  • Discipline to follow established content creation protocol and meet content quality standards
  • Demonstrated advanced computer (PC) skills and aptitude to learn new applications; specific experience using commercial content creation software
  • Familiarity with the content creation lifecycle (conception, planning, design, creation, validation, publication, maintenance, and obsolescence)
  • Ability to mentor co-workers in supporting/subordinate roles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage   
  • High-energy, enthusiastic, team player mentality with a hands-on, proactive work style
  • Other project management experience in; curriculum development, foreign language translation, software or product localization

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in curriculum design, foreign languages, linguistics, or project management.

Compensation

  • Compensation commensurate with experience.
