Director, IT Enterprise Architecture 

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the Director of Enterprise Architecture is responsible for technical and enterprise architecture strategies and the underpinning target architectures and transition states. This is a key role responsible for linking the organization’s mission to its technology strategy, and driving architectural models that show how the current and future needs of Omnicell will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the creation or evolution of the EA function,  including the coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise information systems, data, technical, and solution architecture viewpoints
  • Understand and articulate the business strategy and direction associated with the Business Platform and all its capabilities and applications/solutions by working directly with business stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Accountability for the development and delivery of a multi-year architecture roadmap that outlines the steps and iterations required to fully enable the strategy accepted and adopted by business stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Lead all architecture/technical assessments for the IT product and technology decision making in support of the architectures.
  • Provide architecture, design, and technical leadership in support architectures within the Architecture team, Development and business teams throughout the execution of the roadmap.
  • Review data strategy, architecture, models, and trends to ensure the organization leverages broad sets of information to engage customers
  • Analyzes the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement
  • Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide solution decision making for the enterprise
  • Leads the development of an implementation plan for the EA, based on business requirements and IT strategies
  • Oversees EA implementation, ongoing EA refinement activities, and the documentation of all EA design and analysis work
  • Consults with program/project teams to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints
  • Defines organizational requirements for the resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the EA
  • Promotes the EA process, outcomes, and results to the organization, including the enterprise's IT and business leaders

Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of current architectures, solutions and technologies within the Digital Platform domain.
  • Knowledge of TOGAF-based Enterprise Architecture frameworks
  • Experienced in Enterprise Architecture best practices
  • Proven ability to influence and affect change at all levels of the organization without having positional authority
  • Demonstrated success as a change agent leading significant transformation initiatives in organizations
  • Strong interpersonal skills - effective listening and teaming, self-motivated, demonstrated a bias for action
  • Effective team player, mentor, and coach
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
  • MS/MBA is preferred

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years providing effective leadership to Enterprise Architecture and Delivery teams.
  • 10+ years of practical experience in Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture.
  • E-commerce, web content management, digital platform system/package implementation experience
  • A BA/BS Degree is required

Work Conditions:

  • Travel commitment up to approximately 25%
