Senior Production Planner/Scheduler


Senior Production Planner/Scheduler

Omnicell is currently hiring for a Senior Production Planner/Scheduler to work in our Warrendale manufacturing facility.  The Senior  Production Planner/Scheduler will report to the Manager of Production Planning and Inventory and will be responsible for managing production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis while being accountable for satisfying customer requirements. These inventories are to be secured at cost, delivery and quality levels consistent with Omnicell performance standards.  


  • Ensure company production and inventory control strategies are consistently followed and applied.
  • Execute planning and scheduling processes that drive production efficiency, meet/exceed customer service targets and deliver inventory targets.
  • Maintain accuracy of Manufacturing Requirement Planning (MRP) system.
  • Work with other departments (Product Management, Implementation, and Sales) to develop and maintain forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Receiving, Quality and Production to execute the master production schedule.
  • Execute stocking processes and KanBan replenishment systems while utilizing Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Assist in the creation of Bills of Material (BOM). Conduct BOM reviews.
  • Review inventory shortage report and work with the team on incoming product delivery validation.
  • Ensure master data activities are executed promptly in ERP system(s).
  • Assist in establishing supplier stocking programs, consignment inventory programs, Just-in-Time (JIT) and KanBan (Ultriva) replenishment systems.
  • Investigate production problems, analyze root cause and provide solutions.
  • Assist in identifying excess, obsolete and end of life inventories on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for processing Engineering Change Notices (ECN), as related to Supply Chain Management process.
  • Create and maintain reports that effectively communicate information against established business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, MRP, KanBan, and Just-in-Time (JIT) replenishment systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage complexity while balancing multiple priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office applications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree
  • Three+ years of Production & Inventory Control (PIC) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business
  • APICS or ISCM certification
  • Proficient with SAP
  • Application of data management and analytical software (Excel, Tableau, etc.)
