Description

Software Engineer in Test Automation IV 

Omnicell is looking for an experienced Software Engineer in Test Automation IV for our Engineering organization with proven manual and automation testing skills.  An ideal candidate will have load testing, Web services/API testing, UI automation testing, and distributed system testing experience along with strong analytical abilities, team work and communication skills, ability to maintain and extend test automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible to work closely with the Product Development team in participating in the technical discussion (design reviews and functional reviews) and drive the testing automation strategy for testing the technical aspects of the product that will eventually help quality of the product.
  • Will be responsible to work closely with the Product Marketing team and the engineering team members to create test automation strategy for standalone applications and end to end system integration test automation.
  • Will be responsible to provide the technical leadership, technical mentoring, formalized training for the staff, direction, strategy and hand-on assistance to other members of the team.
  • Will be responsible to work with various cross functional organizations to streamline, integrate and continuously measure and improve the effectiveness and efficiencies of Test Automation
  • Ensures that technical requirements and designs of Test Automation solutions are harmonized across products
  • Provides technical leadership to multiple product engineering teams
  • Actively participate in test planning discussions to assure automation coverage is continuously improving across all products which leverages test automation
  • Communicate status, risks, and offer mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery of all test automation committed projects to cross functional teams and management.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent working knowledge and expertise on programming using C# (preferred) or Java, SQL Server, and front-end technologies.
  • Understanding of application lifecycle management tools such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), GIT – Experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing automation, load, performance/scalability testing using Visual Studio, JMeter, etc.
  • Experience in functional test automation tool like Visual Studio, Ranorex, Selenium, etc.
  • Experience in test automation of web services using SOATest, SOAPUI, etc.
  • An ability to articulate complex technical concepts and tailor the discussion to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguous specifications and can prioritize on the fly.
  • Strong SQE methodology background with emphasis on process good software testing practices in SCRUM.
  • Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills. Proactively solve problems and suggest process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, experience of working with cross-functional teams representing the group.
  • Strong knowledge of various Microsoft server and client Operating Systems.

Basic Requirements:

  • B.S degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with emphasis on software test automation.
  • 4+ years in a technical leadership or lead position

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology
  • Strong knowledge of Relational Database Management
  • Strong knowledge of web services testing using different tools
  • Experience in Behavior Driven Development and Test Driven Development
  • Experience working with distributed and remote teams
