Director, Strategy & Business Development

Responsible for developing corporate strategy and driving deal evaluation and execution. Specific responsibilities include: strategy development and implementation, strategic analysis and portfolio planning, financial/valuation modeling, market and competitive analysis, deal evaluation and due diligence, presentation of analyses and recommendations to senior management, participation in integration planning activities, and any other activities necessary to analyze, negotiate and complete business development transactions.  Ensures that Omnicell is the preferred partner by industry players and develops company’s market presence to improve overall deal flow.    

 

Responsibilities:

  • Enable rigorous, fact-based and value-oriented resource allocation and make, buy, partner decisions through portfolio, strategy, and financial analyses
  • In collaboration with the Business Unit leadership and the Strategy & Business Development team, develop and implement a strategic planning process for the company
  • Create and maintain a “map” of existing products, current initiatives and targeted growth areas, and develop portfolio optimization plan
  • Develop and communicate fact-based portfolio recommendations, including potential acquisitions, and opportunities in adjacencies
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to assess high priority acquisition or licensing targets and manage due diligence team and integration planning activities
  • Lead financial/valuation modeling activities and collaborate with cross functional team to prepare strategic business cases for new business development opportunities
  • In support of defined optimal deal structures and negotiation strategies, lead and/or participate in negotiation and execution of deals
  • Establish network with institutions, organizations, companies, universities, innovation centers, entrepreneurial groups, venture capitalists, and individuals to ensure information flow of novel technologies

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • MBA in decision sciences, business, economics or related quantitative field and proficiency with advanced decision support analytical.
  • 10 years of experience in strategy and/or business development, consulting, or finance within the healthcare industry
  • 4+ years of in-depth technical and/or business knowledge of healthcare IT, medical devices
  • Demonstrable experience supporting and managing mergers or acquisitions, distribution transactions, and licensing activities
  • Demonstrable customer-focused experience with knowledge of market development and/or healthcare marketing and product development

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in strategy and/or business development, consulting, or finance within the healthcare industry
  • 6+ years of in-depth technical and/or business knowledge of healthcare IT, medical devices

 

Work Conditions:

  • Standard office environment
  • 30% US and international travel required
