Engineer II, Software


Software Engineer II

Omnicell needs a Software Developer to create and update client specific implementations of Pharmacy IVR and Patient Messaging solutions.  We are looking for an individual who can learn custom solutions quickly and work independently on a fast paced development team


The Operations Software Developer will be responsible for requirements, design, development, unit testing, and deployment of pharmacy-serving computer telephony applications. Projects will include new client setups and modification of existing client solutions for both outbound and inbound patient communications as well as client side and Omnicell hosted IVR applications. 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • The ability to organize and work through multiple projects at once is a must. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sensitive to detail have a commitment to quality work
  • Candidates must have experience working in a close team environment
  • Willingness to provide coverage to other team members when necessary
  • Good documentation skills are also a must, both the documentation of the code and the details of the project progress.
  • Demonstrable skills in data analysis, data/design verification, and problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle within an Agile/Scrum setting
  • Strong knowledge of SQL  
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining on-task and deadline oriented.

Basic Qualifications:

  • College Degree in a Computer related field or 2+ years of professional experience in development using scripting languages on a Unix or Linux based platform
  • 1+ years’ of experience in software development using C and/or Java

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience using computer telephony or computer based SMS experience
  • Demonstrable experience with SQL, PERL, Ruby, XML, Docker, Jenkins, Subversion, Eclipse, shell scripting, Postgres, SQuierrL, VMWare

Work Conditions:

The position is for standard working hours, 40 hours per week M-F 8am-5pm.
