Applications Analyst (SAP FICO)



FI/CO Applications Analyst

In this role, the FI/CO Application Analyst will provide application functional support and implementation support in SAP Applications module areas of Finance and Controlling.

Essential Functions:

SAP configuration experience in the following SAP modules and applications:

  • Strong hands on experience in GL, Accounts payable, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting modules
  • Ability to liaise with cross functional business and IT teams and act as an internal IT point of contact for SAP implementation projects
  • Manage work across time zones and support US locations (in Florida) - overlap, work with US (in California) core IT team and India support teams as needed
  • Document process flows and operating instructions for business execution team.
  • Analysis of business requirements and design and implementation of robust and scalable solutions to accommodate changing business needs.
  • Participate in and help drive functional and technical design specifications.
  • Identify integration issues and develop solutions to these issues.
  • Coach and develop skills within a project team. Work effectively in geographically and culturally diverse project and support teams.
  • Continually strive to enhance or improve business systems processes that drive efficiency through use of best practices
  • Track record of successfully driving business decisions engaging multiple decision makers and diverse constituencies.
  • Monitor progress of SAP projects and take corrective action as required to ensure deadlines and business needs are met.
  • Identify system problems and determine necessary resolution.
  • Work with SAP team to write business and technical specifications.
  • Execute quality assurance from test definition through assessment sign off.
  • Provide end user training and on-going user support during implementation and after go live date.
  • Implement additional SAP Financial modules, other add-ons, and system upgrades
  • Follow applicable standards, procedures, guidelines, and methodologies in the support and/or maintenance of systems
  • Stay abreast of current trends, literature, and technologies around SAP
  • Understand the existing application architecture and support the interfaces between SAP and other local/centralized systems


  • 4 or more years of general finance and I.T. experience, including at least 1 full life cycle SAP FI/CO implementation
  • Experience in reporting tools such as Report Painter and Report Writer
  • Hands-on configuration and support experience with FI/CO and in depth knowledge of business processes.
  • Integration with cross functional module like Material Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Human Resources (HR)
  • SAP Certification in FICO modules a big plus
  • Demonstrate the ability to adjust to changes in customer demands or operational goals
  • Results oriented and can demonstrate a 'can-do' attitude, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness The ideal candidate is a conceptual thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • The candidate should be pro-active, flexible, precise, customer oriented and always working towards a robust and scalable solution
  • Strong teamwork with peers with a consultative solution approach. Effective team player and/or mentor/coach
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer services orientation and experience in business-related interactions
  • A BA/BS Degree is required
