Master Data Analyst


ERP Master Data Analyst

The newly-created of master data analyst is in charge of maintaining the integrity of the master data in our ERP system. The analyst will be reporting directly to our plant manager, and is expected to work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, finance and the shop floor to collect and enter new product details, maintain the system through product changes, facilitate the change control process, and assure the product costs are reflected accurately.

The analyst will also work with other departments such as Purchasing and Finance to create and maintain the rules for product configuration in our ERP system  (in SAP: Variant Configurator) that enable the creation of project-specific BOMs.

Creation and maintenance of Material Master Data, BOMs and Routing

  • High Level understanding of SAP Sales/Distribution and Logistics Modules.
  • Detailed Skills within:
    • Material Master Data (material creation, maintenance and mass-change)
    • Bills of Material (BOM creation and maintenance)
    • Production Planning (routings and component allocation)
    • Table Look-up (SE16 query)

Review incoming Change Orders for adherence to accepted Standards and Business Rules.

  • Documentation Requirements.
  • Revision Compatibility.
  • Commodity based Part Number Formats.

Coordinate Change Orders through Review / Approval / Data Transfer Process

  • Facilitate timely review, correction, approval.
  • Monitor and escalate past due approval tasks.
  • Coordinate testing with Cross-Functional Team (QA, Production, Finance, Master Data) and provide validation.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of Controlled Part Number and BOM Data to SAP ERP System

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Detail-oriented
  • 3 years of experience with Engineering / Manufacturing Documentation requirements.
  • ERP experience with preference for SAP experience
  • Strong preference for experience with a configurable product or creation of SAP Variant Configurator rules
  • hands-on experience with engineering documentation Software
  • Experience with change control processes
  • Strong communication and project lead skills.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving issues in collaboration with geographically dispersed teams and outsourced service providers.
  • Working knowledge of English
