Production Supervisor 2nd Shift


Description

Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Omnicell, Inc. as an exciting opportunity open for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor to join our Manufacturing Team at our manufacturing facility in Milpitas, CA. The Production Supervisor will oversee all manufacturing operations on the 2nd shift and will be responsible for performing planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes and resources;  leading production staff to ensure high Quality, low cost and On-time delivery to our valued customers; and driving Continuous Improvement activities to enhance Safety and production efficiency. 

Responsibilities:

  • In order to work effectively as a Production Supervisor the position is expected to:
  • Monitor progress of scheduled production orders for each day. Escalate any issues to the Production Manager.
  • Monitor Production Quality on a daily basis. Update weekly/monthly metrics dashboard. Escalate any issues to Manufacturing Engineering and Production Manager as required.
  • Accomplishes excellent manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, operating with a high level of professionalism, instilling a culture of continuous improvement, establishing strong relationships with organizational peers, counseling, and disciplining employees; coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting employees and create a training plan for employees.
  • Assure safety procedures are followed and provide investigation on any work accident and provide solutions to prevent such accidents in the future.
  • Maintain employee records such as discipline records, accident reports, training records and attendance. Also review and approve time cards for each week.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Audit production procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance. Also participate in Internal or External audits such as ISO, ESD and Environmental & safety.

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Experience with an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, metrics based management, and 5S programs
  • Knowledge of ISO, environment, safety and ESD standards and systems.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (task time, line speeds, capacity planning) and ability to schedule assigned labor based on production requirements and handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to coach and motivate employees to achieve excellent results
  • Possesses a keen focus on employee safety and establishing a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Understanding of inventory control practices.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Intermediate MS Word, Excel and Power Point skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a lean manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
  • Working experience with quality processes such as Six Sigma, Lean, or any other recognized industry methodology relevant to ensuring operational excellence in Manufacturing Operations.

  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours from 2:00 pm – 11:30 pm, must be flexible with hours and overtime requirements
