Senior Manager, Consolidations & General Ledger


Sr. Manager, Consolidations and General Ledger

This position manages all aspects of the general ledger including consolidations, inter-company, eliminations, and fixed assets.   This position will be responsible for six direct reports in various locations.


  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements to provide management with accurate and timely financial data to assist in making sound business decisions.
  • Manage global consolidation of results across 20+ legal entities
  • Development of system controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Lead the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Responsible for completeness and accuracy of monthly general ledger reconciliations and analyses.
  • Implementation and maintenance of accounting software (SAP) to provide efficient means of reporting financial data.
  • Manage the quarterly reviews and annual financial audits providing relevant information to external auditors to enable them to evaluate financial information.
  • Supervise general ledger accountants and accounting manager to ensure accuracy of accounting transactions.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage intercompany accounting including inter-company sales and COGS elimination, profit in inventory adjustments and balance sheet eliminations.
  • Responsible for oversight of all intercompany transactions and processes, including compliance with Intercompany Transfer Pricing agreements, as well as the completeness and accuracy of the Intercompany accounts
  • Review all journal entries, complex journal entries, and all general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare the consolidated financial statements in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to provide a true and fair view of the financial and operating conditions of the company.
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
  • Ensure proper and timely recruitment and training of personnel required to meet departmental goals and expectations.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Microsoft Office skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for data manipulation, report generation, and appropriate presentations.
  • Working knowledge of complex automated ERP systems required
  • Knowledge of US GAAP rules related to financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-starter with excellent time and project management skills
  • Ability to drive process based improvements
  • Excellent communications skills and effective multi-departmental and management level cooperation
  • Strong computer and analytical skills, including high proficiency in Excel

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting, finance or business
  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • 3 + years of consolidation experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • 2+ years’ experience managing people
  • 2+ years of SAP experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance or business is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience managing people
  • 2+ Years’ experience managing a remote staff

Travel required up to 25%
