Application Consultant, Medication Adherence

The Application Consultant is a customer facing role and is responsible for design and delivery of complex workflow solutions within the Omnicell MA business. The role will work mainly in product implementation to develop and implement customer workflow, assist in change management, application configuration and end-user training. The position will work with customers enable a smooth introduction of new systems and enhancements with the ned goal of optimizing workflow to ensure most effective usage of automation is achieved. The position may also be called up to assist in sales and market entry activities


  • Assessing current practices, collecting information and analysing customer needs to determine correct solutions.
  • Assist in design and implementation of new projects/programs by analysing internal and external customer and stakeholder requirements
  • Make recommendations for improving systems and processes by studying customer needs
  • Tests configuration and workflow changes. Develops test scripts. Performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards and documents outcome.
  • Assists with the planning, implementing, testing, training and support of customer implementations.
  • Provides go-live support and post go-live consultancy to ensure customer is successful with solutions.
  • Conducts training with end users – either one on one or group sessions.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to understand complex customer needs and articulate the same into a structured requirements document
  • Proven ability in fast learning of specific requirements of complex operations 
  • Ability to effectively present information to public groups, operations personnel, technical personnel and Sr. Management
  • Persuasive and effective communication skills.
  • Must be near fluent in English and be able to read and write at an accomplished level. 
  • Willingness to travel 30-40% of time between regional offices and customer sites

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of working within a systems implementation environment preferable within the pharmacy IT area.
  • Experienced in the area of medication packing to include blister card and pouch.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with Clinical applications, including design, testing, and 
    troubleshooting problems and/or training, preferred. 


  • Previous and substantial experience in a healthcare/medical device company
  • Qualifications/Experience in the area of Pharmacy
  • Extensive experience working as a pharmacist in the area of retail or hospital pharmacy operations.
