Description

Sales Manager

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales of supply and pharmacy automation systems to hospitals in the territory.

As much as this is a sales role, a key requirement is for you to understand hospital supply chain and medicines management processes and, working closely with hospital staff at all levels, design solutions using Omnicell automation systems to deliver significant cost, efficiency and safety benefits. There is a long lead time and you need to be a dedicated, driven person that is prepared to put in the groundwork and steer a sale from initial interest through to design and scoping, trials, the tender process, implementation and ongoing account management.

Essential Functions:

  •  Identifying and generating leads and managing the network of customers and potential customers in your territory
  • Achieving sales targets
  • Meeting & presenting to hospital staff at all levels including stores, pharmacy, nursing, department heads and directors
  • Surveying hospitals to understand existing supply chain and medicines management processes
  • Analysing before and after data and scenarios to demonstrate potential benefits and savings
  • Designing and scoping automation solutions
  • Preparing detailed and complex sales proposals
  • Responding to tenders
  • Attending conferences and exhibitions
  • Administering the CRM system, keeping it updated with current details, sales status and actions for each of your clients and target groups

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Practical problem solving personality
  • Ability to plan and implement sales campaigns
  • Ability to achieve sales from both new customers and existing customers
  • Understand hospital stock control and medicines management issues
  • Understand automation systems from a functional and technical perspective and how they integrate with hospital systems and processes
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Windows Operating Systems, MS Office, CRM Systems
  • Hold a valid full UK driving license

Communication and relationship skills

  • Able to draw out of NHS staff their current issues
  • Able to influence NHS staff positively to engage with automation
  • Able to generate sales leads and close sales
  • Able to interpret intelligently what they are told by NHS staff
  • Able to communicate concisely 

Analytical and judgment skills

  • Able to manage sales campaigns and keep them on track
  • Understand the big picture and make intelligent decisions but take advice where appropriate, interpret advice and then act upon it
  • Arrive quickly at logical conclusions and inject useful analysis into the project implementation process
