STAFF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE sought by Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
Duties: Participate in clinical research operations. Measure and evaluate CT images. Reconstruct 3D images of the heart and enter measurement data into medical databases. Receive medical files and organize and archive CT images. Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings as needed. Solve minor problems by using judgment based on knowledge of institute policies and department practices and procedures. Manage clinical research projects in coordination with cardiac interventionist and Electrophysiologists utilizing Cardiac Catheterization, Intravascular Ultrasound, CT Angiogram, and Defibrillator implants procedures. Ensure collection, processing and transport of clinical research samples according to IAT A requirements. Prepare regulatory submissions for Local and Central Institutional Review Boards (IRB).

Requirements: Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Medical Sciences, Medicine, or Doctor of Medicine (MD) or related field. Must have knowledge or experience in: CT imaging, cardiovascular anatomy, and managing medical databases; managing patients with heart failure and ACS; use of GE SmartScore and TeraRecon program for Coronary Artery Calcification Scoring; using OsiriX program for epicardial fat measurements and Vital Vitrea program for Cardiac CT image manipulations; performing Clinical Data analysis using SAS Program; and performing timely eCRF Data Entry using Inform (Phase Forward), Oracle, Red Cap, Trial Recorder and RAVE systems.
