Responsible for providing account information, interviewing, and opening accounts for members and professionally handling the member’s needs. Provides a variety of transaction services to members include receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for consumer, conventional mortgage, home equity, credit card, and overdraft account loans. Meets with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain loan information and documentation. Assembles loan applications and coordinates appraisals for loans that meet initial lending criteria and are within approved lending limits. Ensures that sales goals are met according to Credit Union objectives and members and prospective members are promptly and professionally served.
Requires a minimum of three years of experience as a loan officer. This candidate must have a thorough knowledge of member services and products provided, knowledge of Credit Union loan services, policies, and procedures, an understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation, and knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices. This candidate must also have excellent interviewing, communication and public relations skills, have strong analytical and financial skills, be professional in appearance, dress, and attitude and be able to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
