Job Title: Firewall Engineer
Location: Arlington, VA Pentagon
Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI
Required Certifications: IAT Level II certification, Juniper/Cisco Certification, and CND-AU Certification
Required Education: B.S. Degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Firewall Engineer will provide the following:
Configure and utilize network protection components (such as firewalls, Virtual Private Networks [VPNs] and network Intrusion Detection Systems [IDSs]).
Apply knowledge of the common attack vectors on the network layer.
Perform data parsing and troubleshoot and restore servers and appliance to a fully operational state.
Apply knowledge of basic system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques.
Experience with firewalls, VPN, and IDS.
Six to ten years of experience with network protection techniques and technologies.
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.
May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
